According to the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) conducted by Statistics Canada for the years 2015/2016 and 2019/2020 combined, 26% (22.7%, 29.5%) of Simcoe Muskoka residents (15-64 years) reported using a condom the last time they had sexual intercourse. This was significantly lower than the comparable provincial average, where 29% (28.2%, 29.9%) of the Ontario population (15-64 years) reporting using a condom the last time they had sexual intercourse.

For the same survey period in both Simcoe Muskoka and Ontario as a whole, using a condom during the last sexual intercourse decreases significantly with older age groups. However among Ontario residents (15 to 64 years), using a condom during the last sexual intercourse is highest among those with lowest income. These associations were not significant when looking at the Simcoe Muskoka population on its own.
