Technical Notes
The Census sorts the Canadian population living in private households based on their after-tax economic family income. The population is then divided into ten equal groups or deciles. The economic family income decile group provides a rough ranking of the economic situation of a person based on his or her relative position in the Canadian distribution of the adjusted after-tax income of economic families for all persons in private households.
The income groupings on this page are based on the proportion of the Simcoe Muskoka population in a dissemination area (DA) that fell within the bottom half of the Canadian distribution of economic family income deciles.
Provincial life expectancy data was acquired directly from Statistics Canada CANSIM database: Table 13-10-0389-01 Life expectancy, at birth and at age 65.
