According to the 2019 Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey (OSDUHS), 34% (27.6%, 40.5%) of Simcoe Muskoka students (grades 7-12) reported that they felt ‘a lot of stress’ or ‘more stress than they could take’ in the past four-weeks, which was not significantly different from the provincial average of 33% (31.1%, 34.5%). Female students, high school students and those with lower perceived socioeconomic status (SES) reported elevated stress significantly more than did male students, grade seven and eight students, and those with higher perceived SES. This is similar to what was reported by Simcoe Muskoka Grade 7 to 12 students in the 2015 survey.
