Smoking in the Home Four in five households in Simcoe Muskoka are now completely free of secondhand smoke. The prevalence of smoke-free homes has increased steadily over the past decade, especially among households with children living at home. Smoking in Vehicles Four in five adult (18+ years) drivers in Simcoe Muskoka report that the vehicle they drive the most is completely free of secondhand smoke. Smoke-free vehicles are reported more often by those with higher levels of education. Exposure to Secondhand Smoke in Public Places Between 2007 and 2010, about 1 in 10 non-smokers (12+) in Simcoe Muskoka reported being regularly exposed to secondhand smoke in public places. Youth (12-19) and young adults (20-44) non-smokers reported the highest exposure to secondhand smoke in public places.
