Sexual Behaviours

Sexually transmitted infections (STI) and their health related consequences can have a dramatic impact on sexual, reproductive and overall health and represent a substantial burden to our health care system.

Sexual behaviours, such as younger age of sexual activity, having multiple sexual partners and inconsistent condom use can put individuals at higher risk for acquiring sexually transmitted infections.

For more information on sexual health programs at the health unit, please visit the Sexual Health pages on the health unit website.

This HealthSTATS section provides information on the following:

Youth Sexual Activity

Sexual Education

Condom Use

Also see our Infectious Diseases page for information on sexually transmitted infectious diseases.
