Since these links lead to external websites, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is not responsible for the contents of these websites. Cancer Canadian Cancer Society - Statistics - Information regarding incidence, mortality and other measures of cancer burden of the most common types of cancer by age, sex, year and province or territory. This site also contains PowerPoint slides of cancer statistics and supplementary information.
Cancer Care Ontario’s Cancer Data - Information collected from cancer service providers across the province.
- Ontario Cancer FactsShort monthly fact sheets intended to increase knowledge about cancer and its risk modifiers in Ontario. Data typically originate from several sources including the Ontario Cancer Registry, Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) publications, or from Canadian, provincial or regional health surveys.
Public Health Agency of Canada – Cancer Surveillance On-Line -
You will be able to look at trends in cancer incidence by province and territory, by age group, over time, and for about 45 different cancer sites. Both graphs and tables will be displayed and instructions will be available for downloading the information to your personal computer. Child Health Canadian Paediatric Society - Surveillance - Canadian Paediatric Surveillance Program: gathers data from paediatricians and paediatric subspecialists each month to monitor rare diseases and conditions in Canadian children.

Public Health Agency of Canada – Chronic Disease Infobase Data Cubes - Chronic Disease Infobase Data Cubes contain many different types of Chronic Disease health indicator information.
General Health Status - Canada Statistics Canada – Health Profile - This profile features community-level data from a number of sources including Statistics Canada's health surveys, administrative data, and the census of population. The application is designed to give quick access to the latest health-related data available for a selected health region, providing the corresponding provincial data by default, but users can easily select any region of choice for comparison.
Statistics Canada – Health Trends - This product presents comparable time-series data for a range of health indicators from a number of sources including the Canadian Community Health Survey, Vital Statistics, and Canadian Cancer Registry.
ICES inTool - An interactive, web-based application that provides Ontario-based health information in a variety of formats, including graphs, tables and maps.
Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) - Data and analysis on Canada’s health system and the health of Canadians.

US National Library of Medicine Gateway (NLM Gateway) - The NLM Gateway is a Web-based system that lets users search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). It allows users of NLM services to initiate searches from one Web interface, providing "one-stop searching" for many of NLM's information resources or databases.

Health Indicators Association of Public Health Epidemiologists in Ontario (APHEO) – Core Indicators Project - Definitions (but not data) for more than 120 public health indicators used for standardized reporting of information across public health units in Ontario.
Statistics Canada - Health Indicators - Chronological Index - Health indicators support health regions in monitoring progress in improving and maintaining the health of the population and the functioning of the health system.

Infectious Disease Ontario HIV/AIDS Epidemiological Monitoring Unit - In-depth, timely reports characterizing the evolving HIV epidemic in the province.
Public Health Agency of Canada - Flu Watch - Canada's national surveillance system that monitors the spread of flu and flu-like illnesses on an on-going basis.
Public Health Agency of Canada - Notifiable Diseases Online - A web-based application to enhance dissemination of surveillance data collected on notifiable diseases in Canada. The data are available for each province and territory for each year starting at 1989 up to the end of 2004. (For 1999, Northwest Territories and Nunavut data have been combined).
Public Health Agency of Canada - West Nile Virus MONITOR - Weekly reports and maps summarizing West Nile Virus activity in Canada during the West Nile Virus season (May to October).
Mental Health Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) – Research Publications - Research publications include annual reports, e-Bulletins offering survey highlights of the Ontario population and the Research newsletter CAMH Science.
Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) – Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey - The Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey (OSDUHS) is a population survey of Ontario students in grades 7 to 12. This self-administered, anonymous survey is conducted across the province every two years with the purpose of identifying epidemiological trends in student drug use, mental health, physical activity, and risk behaviour, as well as identifying risk and protective factors.
Resources OpenEpi – Epidemiologic Calculators - OpenEpi provides statistics for counts and measurements in descriptive and analytic studies, stratified analysis with exact confidence limits, matched pair and person-time analysis, sample size and power calculations, random numbers, sensitivity, specificity and other evaluation statistics, R x C tables, chi-square for dose-response, and links to other useful sites.

Socio-Demographics Community Information Database (CID) - A free internet-based tool providing social, economic and demographic data for all communities and regions across Canada.

Community Data Consortium (CDC) - The Community Data Consortium (CDC) is a gateway for municipalities and community based organizations to access data from Statistics Canada and other institutions in order to identify and better understand the social and economic trends within their individual communities.

Tobacco & Substance Use Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA) - CCSA's most recent statistical research, including the 2004 Canadian Addiction Survey, as well as other Canadian, multi-national and international data studies are available on the website.
Health Canada – Canadian Alcohol & Other Drug Use Monitoring Survey (CADUMS) - On-going general population survey of alcohol and illicit drug use among Canadians aged 15 years and older, that was launched in April 2008. Derived from and similar to the Canadian Addiction Survey (CAS) of 2004, CADUMS was designed to provide detailed national and provincial estimates of alcohol and drug-related behaviours and outcomes.
